ABOUTÂ MOLLY
My name is Molly McGill and I am so excited to be teaching virtually and sharing what I love with students from all over the world. I earned my Masters in Art History from the University of Colorado, where I also taught Introduction to Art History, from the ancient world through Contemporary art, as well as The Art of Disney and Pixar to hundreds of students, ranging from beginning freshman to upper-division students, and non-traditional students, such as high school students taking dual enrollment courses. I specialize in animation, college-level writing (including admissions application assistance), classical art history, and pop culture in modern art. Further, I have a love for Disney, which I focused on in my own studies. I teach a number of classes on Disney, Pixar, and Marvel based on my own research and my time working for the Disney company.
Obviously learning should be informative, but I believe it should be fun and interesting too. I present traditional subjects in non-traditional ways, helping students to link what they know to what they are learning. I incorporate student interests into every class I teach to engage them thoroughly and allow them to explore the material in a fun and unique manner.
After years of experience teaching in college classrooms, I’ve spent the last few years exploring culturally and artistically significant destinations in Europe and the Americas to inform my studies. I look forward to sharing my adventures with you and your student. I center my classes on a thoughtful lecture, incorporating directed questions, discussion time, and interactive activities to promote critical thinking and unique perspectives.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions about me or my courses. I’m also open to new class topics and special requests.
